User Guide
How does this site work?
That should be easy (at least I hope so):
First of all choose what you want to enter. '
scroll name' to show all not hidden or frozen eggs and hatchlings on your scroll. '
single code' to add only one entry. Fill the textbox according to your choice. Press Go.
scroll name
If you chose and entered your 'scroll name' a list of eggs and hatchis from your scroll will appear. Check entries you want to add and uncheck those you want to be removed or not be added. Pre-checked entries are those that were already added previously. Press 'save' if you are happy with your choice. You can remove entries anytime by repeating this procedure. The list also shows how the site will classify an entry ( and so where it will add it).
|
single code
If you chose and entered a 'single code' (the 5 digit code of the egg or hatchling you want to add) and clicked go, it will immediately add your entry to the site (or update the entry if it was added previously already). Here you can also add hidden eggs or hatchlings. The site will automatically know what you have entered.
|
The site updates itself, means the entries will move to the places they belong to on their own (Hatchlings to the Hatchigarden, Eggs to the Incubator, Ers to the Emergency Sections 'Hatching Sands' for eggs and 'Hatchi School' for hatchlings, Hidden will not be displayed until they get unfogged, Adults/dead/frozen will be deleted). Though it might take a moment until the site notices changes. If it is too slow for you just enter the code or scroll name again. The site will update your entries then. If it still doesn't move something to the right place it's because the data I get from TJ's API to check the state of your entries is/can be cached for some time. I can't do anything in that case.
The
tiny blue arrows (
) to the right of each entry allows you to update the egg or hatchling to its left. So if you see an adult you can click the arrow beside it and it will be deleted or if there is a hatchling in the incubator it will move it to the hatchigarden and so on. Don't be afraid to use it. :)
Ers that are going to be in real danger are highlighted in yellow, orange and red dependent of their time left.

Please be careful when using more than one hatchery. Too many views in too short time can kill eggs and hatchlings. Silvi's Lair will stop viewing entries when they reached a specific amount of views at which they will grow safely to the next stage. Those entries will be displayed again once they can actually grow/hatch (with less than 4 days left). This is on the one hand to give those entries that are still in need a chance to get enough views, but on the other hand to keep them save from too many views. This is a safety measure on this site but this can't stop that eggs and hatchlings get to many views from other sites they are shown on. So be careful. :)

What is Silvi's Lair
Silvi's Lair is a Fansite to the browser game
Dragon Cave created by T.J. Lipscomb. The Lair's purpose is to help the players to get their dragon eggs hatched and/or their hatchlings grown in time because they have a limited live time of 7 days per stage. The dragon is save once it grows adult or once the hatchling gets frozen by a magic spell cast by its owner.
To reach the next stage eggs and hatchlings need to be viewed and clicked by other people. Silvi's Lair is a place where the player can add their eggs and hatchlings (in the following refered to as 'entries') and let them be viewed to visitor of the page.
Information that is gathered by Silvi's Lair and what it is used for
Silvi's Lair stores certain information about the entry which is available via the Dragon Cave API like the dragonID for identification or the amount of views the entry had at the last checkback with the API. This information is needed for the proper "dragon care". Once the entry is removed by the player or the Lair recognizes that the entry can't grow any further (because it is adult, frozen or dead), this information will be deleted entirely. There is no personal information stored in connection with the entry about the persons who interacte with it in any way (add, update or delete).
For the "Users online" display IPs from the currently online people are temporarily (10 minutes) stored as hash value to care that people don't get count twice and deleted afterwards.
None of these information is shared to any third party.
Information that may be gathered by my provider 1&1 Internet AG
The protection of your personal data is very important to me. That's why I'm actually not collecting some. But obviously my provider does and I don't see a way to switch that off. So here is the data privacy statment to that:
When the Lair is visited, the webserver, hosted by the 1&1 Internet AG in Germany, automatically makes a temporary record of each access and stores it in a log file. The following data are recorded, and stored until an automatic deletion date:

- Volume of data transmitted
- Indication whether download was successful
- Data identifying the browser software and operating system
- Web site from which our site was accessed
- Name of your Internet service provider
The purpose of recording these data is to allow use of the website (connection setup), for system security, for technical administration of the network infrastructure and in order to optimize the internet service. The IP address is only evaluated in the event of fraudulent access to the network infrastructure.
No compilation of personal profiles of users is done. The German Teleservices Data Protection Act (TDDSG § 5 Abs. 3) states that user profiles are permissible under the condition that pseudonyms are used, and on condition that the user does not withhold consent. I'm not using the analytics stuff for the Lair but it is on the server, so:
